Should I Avoid Gluten?

Gluten is a protein composite found in wheat, rye barley and triticale. Nearly 50% of American have an aversion to gluten on some level. Many suffer migraines, bloating, thyroid, behavioral issues, and it intensifies diseases affiliated with tissue inflammation. Gluten is also the only protein found in our food that is completely indigestible.  In some cases, such as Celiac Disease, indestructible gluten molecules can pollute the intestinal lining and cause your immune system to target them like they would a disease. Their immune system will even destroy healthy intestinal cells in its fight against gluten. This also causes harm to beneficial bacteria in our gut.

Some others also experience an aversion to gluten called non-celiac gluten sensitivity.  They may experience similar symptoms to those with Celiac Disease such as headaches, bloating, fatigue and stomach pain.  Gluten can also aggravate arthritis and cause joint swelling.  Even worse, it can be possible to get strong cravings for wheat gluten making it kind of like an addiction.  If you believe you may have gluten sensitivity it is recommended that you remove gluten from your diet and then slowly reintroduce to see if you have any reactions. If you have a gluten sensitivity or want to eliminate gluten from your diet, these bars are a perfect match for you!
